Fast Carnivore, Fast



I used to think fasting was a form of starvation. However, the more I think about it I have realized I don't need to eat as often as I may have thought. People have started this way of eating to address a myriad of medical issues. Many of us see ourselves as patient zero and experiment with what works for us. We are on unique journeys and share our experiences with one another.


One of the first things they come across. Is that they don't feel hungry as often. This may have to do with our bodies switching from using carbohydrates to fat for energy. The fasting processes is another way to encourage our bodies to make that conversion.

Several changes happen in our body during a fast.


4 Hours – Insulin levels drop. This helps the body make the shift to burn fat for energy.


8 Hours – Blood sugar normalize. Reducing blood sugar from intermittent fasting has shown helpful to those who are insulin resistance.


10 Hours – Fat burning begins. The body has used up the available glucose from carbohydrates and has started to burn fat.


12 Hours – Ketosis beings. Promotes weight loss as the body begins to break down stored fat for energy.


14 Hours – Autophagy beings. Benefits include reduced blood pressure, lowered cholesterol, and reduced inflammation.


16 Hours – Human growth hormone increases. Human growth hormone promotes lean muscle, decreases fat mass, and improves skin.


I have discovered if I allow myself to fast for 14 – 16 hours, everything is better. Between the carnivore way of eating and fasting I have had a drastic decease in fibromyalgia symptoms. I have a sharper mind as the fibro-fog is gone. My trips to the bathroom are no longer a panicked sprint. The best part… NO PAIN. The join aches, the muscle pain, and the migraines are all completely gone. All of this without medication.
